| Teresa, An article in the Oct 23 issue of US News, the cover story "Science and the Soul" the issue of consiousness is belittled at first by many biochemical theorists who say the mind/brain only works from the bottom up, not from the top - consciousness - down. Certain psychologists agree. The question is essentially whether the logic supporting biochemistry works top down and bottom up - an if and only if statement - or only bottom up. We know the fundamental constructs of calculus underlying Newton's mechanics is an if and only if statement. Is Relativity such, and is biology and chemistry and physics in general and higher mathematics such as field theory? I don't know the answers to these questions! | Yes, I am having a good time now, not sensational but good as they can reliably come. You can have wild exileration yet that cannot predictably be sustained and keeps you at the edge of your seat from where yoiu can easily fall. Flying high risks a fall, yet I am comfortably moderate in mood expectation, experience, and emotion. You show some hieghts you travel through yet I trust the journey is reasonably safe and just that adventurous phase of life I have experienced. I hope it offers the rewards that calm the nerves it plays upon, and may you my friend find your way to the land of the milk and honey amid the skys of life. | I feel for ya, but I stick by the winners, the experienced, the seasoned, the successes, the tried and true, along the epic jouney that is life - for I know I will feel lost and alone sometimes, failing to see myself as worthy, but in good company I have the road signs I need and soon enough I will heed them though I choose sometimes to wollow in the pain and find contorted purpose there amid the suffering of the world. For everyone must somehow face trial and tribulation and yet my pleasant moments are pleasant enough, I do not pig out on them. I lurk near the pain somehow, yet safe. It reminds me of my past and yet opens the door to futures. For Einstein said, "In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity." Pain opens doors for me sometimes. | | |
| Oh Lee, let the ways of the Lord bring you wonderful pleasant mystery of life in an unfolding adventure that has no real endpoint but goes on and on pleasingly. Be scared not by what comes for it is we are the truly blessed and even should we pass from this earth we remain the very blessed, darling, but I trust it is not quite that threatening, my dear. You leave us a great mystery in you and your trials of health but tis life is mysterious my dear, tis life, ; for we are but the letters that make a great epic novel, if we could only see, yet alas tis merky but still wonderous when you realize the possibilities! | | |
